Analysis on the transformation of standby frequency converter for primary dedusting fan of 3  and 4  converter

Abstract:Two 900kw ACS800 series ABB frequency converters are used for primary dust removal fans of 3 and 4 converters in steelmaking operation area. In the process of converter smelting production, if any frequency converter fails, one converter will be shut down.Through this technical transformation, a 1000kW standby domestic frequency converter (hid580-t7-1000g2as) is added. By switching the switch cabinet, switching the network switch and operating the computer screen, the standby frequency converter can be put into operation quickly to avoid affecting the production.In other words, when any converter of 3 ᦇ and 4 ᦇ converter fails, the standby converter can be put into operation in any converter to continue smelting production, so as to avoid malignant accidents such as converter shutdown and even blast furnace repair.

1. Introduction

ACS800 series frequency converter (690V, 900kw) produced by ABB company of Switzerland is adopted for converter primary dedusting fan frequency converter of 3 ᦇ and 4 ᦇ converter.Since the resumption of steelmaking production in May 2017, converter primary dust removal fan frequency converter reported 2340 (parallel connected inverter module unit short circuit) fault at 12:00 on October 15, resulting in converter shutdown for 48 hours; converter primary dust removal fan frequency converter reported 3220 (direct current bus low voltage) fault at 23:10 on October 27, 2017, resulting in converter shutdown for 4 hours, which brought great impact on steelmaking productionImpact and impact.In view of the importance and influence of the frequency converter of the primary dust removal fan, a 1000kW standby domestic frequency converter (hid580-t7-1000g2as) was added on site with the approval of the company leaders. When any fan frequency converter of the converter fails, the standby frequency converter can be quickly put into operation in one of the converters to continue smelting production, so as to avoid the accident of converter shutdown equipment.

 

2. Control principle of spare frequency converter transformation

2.1 PLC control principle

PROFIBUS-DP communication card (rpba-01) is used for converter primary air fans of 3 ᦇ and 4 ᦇ converters, which are controlled by Siemens S7-400 series PLC through PROFIBUS-DP network. PLC systems of 3 ᦇ and 4 ᦇ converters are two independent PLC control systems (in PROFIBUS-DP network, CPU 416-2 is 2 ᦇ DP station by default, ACS800 converter is 3 ᦇ DP station);By reconfiguring the hardware configuration of PLC for primary dust removal of 3 ᦇ and 4 ᦇ converters in the source program, adding 4 ᦇ DP stations respectively, connecting the standby inverter and the original inverter in the same PROFIBUS-DP network through switching the network switch of the switching cabinet (as shown in Figure 1 below), and compiling the standby inverter control PLC program and the operation screen of the standby inverter, the real-time speed regulation operation of the inverter can be realized.
